Cedarburg, A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Classic

If you are looking for a place to live that offers a taste of country, and yet is a busy community lifestyle, Cedarburg would fit! Located at the northwest corner of Ozaukee County, the housing stock ranges from 1800’s log homes, to new and upscale construction! Large country parcels to manageable suburban lots.

As a child, we’d drive out “to the country” to visit cousins, and that would take us through Cedarburg, and past the Covered Bridge. This picture of my parents in front of the bridge in the 1960s. My sister’s wedding photos were taken at the park. This historic landmark, on Covered Bridge Road, just north of Hwy 60 and Five Corners still stands today. Built in 1876 it is the last one standing out of 85 that once covered the state.
The downtown area of Cedarburg is a shopper’s delight. With everything from the Winery at the north end, in the Cedar Creek Settlement, to the Ice Cream Parlor, Candy Store, Soap Store, Quilt Shop and a few restaurants in between. If you are looking for a unique gift, or some good wine, no doubt you will find it here!
Cedarburg is well known for its Strawberry Festival, Winter Festival, Fall Harvest Festival, Oktoberfest, Maxwell Street Days, and many festive holiday events in

November and December. The Cedar Creek Settlement sponsors the Festive Friday Eves from November 19th through December 17th featuring Wine tasting, shopping & visiting Santa to name a few activities. I plan on checking out a “Blue Christmas” this Friday the 19th, a 50’s inspired event!
Cedarburg also boasts great schools and parks. People who live here love the small town feel, yet they are just 20 miles north of downtown Milwaukee! If Cedarburg sounds like a good place for your family, call me for a list of homes for sale.
